After School
After School Clubs are open to all children regardless of age, ability, gender and football experience. After School Clubs are set up to provide children a safe and fun environment to enjoy their footballing experience with emphasis placed on FUN and ENJOYMENT.
The Football Development Centre run Football Clubs in the following Schools:
- Web Heath First School – Monday
- Harry Taylor First School – Tuesday
- Astwood Bank First School Year 3 and 4 – Wednesday
- Astwood Bank First School Year 1 and 2 – Thursday
- Oakhill First School – Friday
Throughout the term the Football Development Centre believes in staff continuation and strives to ensure the same members of staff work throughout the term at the same schools. This gives the children confidence in approaching and talking to coaches they already know.
Curriculum
The Football Development Centre teaches curriculum P.E. in a variety of sports and activities, the following sports are covered:
- Year 2, 3 and 4: Football, cricket, basketball, racquet sports and athletics
- Reception and year 1: Bat and ball games, throwing and catching, finding space and movement games.
The Football Development Centre follows the National Curriculum guideline and delivers P.E. teaching sessions for children between the ages of 5 and 9. We plan, prepare and organise activities based around a structured school guide.
